Recent Amazon Purchases – April 2020 Pt. 1

April 14, 2020

Amazon hauls are looking a little different ever since #quarantine2020 with many home items replacing clothing and accessories that I used to buy.  Ever since we’ve been stuck indoors I have a strong desire to redecorate everything, clean everything, and purchase random items like an orthotic pillow and a butt donut for sitting long periods of time.  If you are sharing the same feelings you will probably want to purchase everything on today’s post – I mean who doesn’t want a side sleeper pillow?! Let’s get to the recently purchased items …

Side Sleeper Pillow: I sleep with two pillows and one of them is a feather pillow that is beaten down and I fold it up like a hot pocket to try to rig a side sleeping situation.  I kept getting random targeted ads for a $300 incline side sleeper pillow and I knew there had to be something cheaper out there.  Enter the Amazon side sleeper pillow – this thing even has a hole for your ear to align your spine while you sleep!

Portable Ring Light: Are you having a ton of zoom calls for work and tired of looking like you’re on the Target self-checkout surveillance camera? What is it about videoconferencing platforms that have the worst possible portrayal of what you look like? I purchased this cheap little portable ring light recently and it makes all the difference.  It’s really easy to work and you just clip your phone into the middle part for video phone calls.  If you have a computer video call you can just prop it up behind your computer – it’s really compact and lightweight.

Gold End Tables: Check out these gold end tables if you are looking for something simple and affordable.  We had two heavy and huge end tables for the last 4 years and I decided last week that they had to go.  We freed up so much space by getting these smaller and more narrow end tables and they also double for storage since they have 3 tiers.

The Ordinary Peeling Solution: My friend Kathleen Jennings always raves about this peeling solution from The Ordinary so I decided to order some to see what all the fuss was about.  This solution is 30% AHA and 2% BHA which serves as a quick and easy fix for skin texture and appearance, plus it’s pretty inexpensive and has great reviews.

Fuzzy House Slippers: Is anyone else basically living in house slippers? Since I never leave my house I am wearing some variation of a fuzzy slipper on the daily.  I’ve purchased almost all of mine from Amazon and I these are very comfy and have a nice cushioned sole for getting into techno cleaning or house projects.

Miami Tan Mousse: I always talk about how much I love my Loving Tan mousse but someone DMed me and said that this Miami Tan is a good dupe.  I looked it up and was shocked at how many good reviews it had.  I am always looking for a good sunless tanning product and if this has the same color as Loving Tan at half the price I will be stocked.

Bissel Turbo Clean: if you have dogs, kids, or just have tons of area rugs that have high traffic, you will know the pain of cleaning a rug and/or having one professionally cleaned.  I literally got down on my hands and knees last week with a scrubbing brush and a bucket of hot water and cleaning solution and cleaned our dining room rug.  It’s such a hassle going to the grocery store (pre-Covid) and renting those big carpet cleaning machines.  I had no idea that they made little mini versions of those for the home until last night while browsing Amazon.  This is just what I was looking for and can’t wait to use it to clean my rugs with ease.

Foldable Bed Desk: We live in a small 3 bedroom house and one of those bedrooms is Rob’s office (he’s in IT so he has several monitors).  Our guest bedroom is not really suited for a bedroom/office situation so most days I end up working from home on the bed in our main bedroom.  It’s nice because I can spread out everything but I’ve noticed my lower back is starting to hurt from no support and bending over on my computer.  I’ve finally succumbed to ordering a bed desk for the room and I can’t wait for it to arrive!  This one even has an area where you can prop up an iPad if you are multi-tasking.

Pom Pom Velvet Pillows: I was wanting to spruce up our couch and living room for spring but didn’t want to spend a ton on custom pillow cases since our dogs are crazy (the new one chews everything).  I found these adorable 26 x 26 velvet pom pom cases on Amazon and I am super-impressed with the quality for the price.  They come in several colors and sizes.  Keep in mind you have to order the pillows separately but I also found those on Amazon for a good price.

Saferest Mattress Encasement: Since my bed is doubling as my “office” these days I am finding that I am spilling things left and right and frankly our mattress doesn’t offer great support.  I wanted to get a mattress topper and in my search I came across this SafeRest one that is water-resistant and protects from bacteria and several other things so I decided to give it a try.

What are you all buying on Amazon right now? Let me know in the comments!
