Has anyone else had a weird week this past week? I think the fact that it’s been raining here 35 out of the last 50 days isn’t helping, but I’ve just been on the struggle bus. It’s hard to keep up with everything and then every single time I sign onto instagram someone is either pregnant, having a gender reveal, building a house, renovating a home, moving, or some other “click worthy” event that gets a little old to see. I want to believe the best in people and think that people have the best intentions, but I can’t help but think everyone is so caught up with “keeping up with the Joneses” and it just feeds this never ending cycle of always needing to one up people on social media. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but I am noticing it more and more every day that I get on IG. Last Sunday night I think I counted 6 pregnancy announcements, 3 we’ve moving or we’re building announcements, and some other things I can’t even remember. I know I’m not perfect and I’m not a good one to talk, but it just seems like people can’t be happy with what they have. Maybe that’s my armchair analysis as an outsider looking in, but sometimes it can get smothering to see all of this keeping up mentality. Anyways, as I always say, thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
I finally caved after hearing the 93933th person talking about these $29 Amazon sheets. I am actually really impressed because I am very picky about my sheets and how they feel in bed. I would describe these as silky, but they definitely aren’t too soft to where they feel like a jersey knit, but they’re somewhere in the middle. I mean, you really can’t go wrong with some $29 sheets so you might as well give them a try.
I’ve been noticing some pretty cool trends for spring and summer of 2020 and I have to say that I am loving most of them! My favorites include dramatic sleeves, tiers, and volume in dresses, leisure suits (aka my matching sweatsuits), and strappy square toe sandals. I know these square toe sandals look like a blast from the late 90’s past, but they are everywhere right now so there’s no escaping them. Plus I think we’re finally moving away from uncomfortable stiletto heels and pointed toe shoes and our feet can breathe a sign of relief with the lower block heels and square toe that are on trend right now.
