I’ve been to New York City several times in the past and have stayed in different parts of Manhattan from downtown to uptown. My favorite area is always the Midtown/Times Square area because of how convenient it is to 5th Avenue, Shopping, Central Park, and the theater district. This year for fashion week we were lucky enough to get to work with The Kimberly Hotel which was a godsend due to the huge rooms. The Kimberly Hotel is such a hidden gem located on E 50th Street between Lexington Avenue and 3rd. The hotel has a European vibe with a small boutique hotel feel. Everyone was so friendly and the doormen and staff have worked there for years. You really get a warm and cozy feeling from the closeness of the staff and how accommodating they are to the guests.
My first impression of this hotel was that the rooms are huge! Having stayed in quite a few NYC hotels, I am used to a small little room with the beds and a bathroom. The Kimberly blew every other hotel out of the water with their huge living room space with a nice big cozy couch, a full dining table and chairs, a kitchenette, several closets, two huge beds and my favorite part- the balcony! It’s really hard to find any NYC hotels with balconies, so this was an added treat to get to go out every morning and drink our coffee while watching the hustle and bustle of the city below.
The Kimberly hotel has quite the rooftop as well, complete with a rooftop lounge called Upstairs with a full bar and views of the Chrysler Building. Upstairs at The Kimberly serves creative cocktails and small plates with a great ambiance to boot. We enjoyed drinks at Upstairs on a bright and sunny afternoon and got some great pictures with the cityscape backdrop. We also really loved the fact that they serve tea and pastries on the rooftop for guests every day from 1-4pm. The hotel also has a steakhouse called Empire Steakhouse and an Italian restaurant called Bistango.
I have to say that we indulged in room service quite a few times during our stay and every single time the food was delicious. The Kimberly has 24 hour room service so we took advantage of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks! I think my favorite was definitely the breakfast – the french toast was amazing!
Overall, I give The Kimberly Hotel a 10/10 and can’t wait to stay there again on my next trip to NYC. The big rooms coupled with the warm hospitality makes this hotel a must for any trip to New York City in your future. Be sure to check their website here for your next trip.
Thank you to The Kimberly Hotel for providing us with 2 nights in exchange for an honest review of the hotel.
