We’re off this upcoming weekend on our second annual leaf peeping adventure – last year we went to Vermont and stayed in Woodstock. This year we are switching things up a bit and spending a day in Maine and then driving to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It’s always difficult thinking of what to pack for adventures like these because you never know what you will run into. A big part of leaf peeping is just driving around and sometimes hiking a trail so you have to pack things like duck boots and umbrellas just in case. The weather is also vastly different than it is here in Memphis (as in it’s been in the 90’s here for weeks). I think the high temperature when we’re in New Hampshire will be 58 which is crazy to me! I am actually not packing duck boots and instead I am going to buy a pair at the flagship LL Bean store in Freeport, Maine, which I think will be a cool experience 🙂
I about died when I saw this plaid coat from this collage- I’m a sucker for a plaid coat and this one has a tie waist and a button up collar. I’m also packing my favorite black jeans that I wear all year long. I found a fun green wool hat for only $29 so I’m excited to see what it looks like in person. I also love this camel bag that is perfect for bag ladies like me who like to carry around their whole life in a purse. I bet you’re starting to see a theme here – lots of sweaters and plaid coats 🙂
I tore up H&M last week and got a lot of basic sweaters. Truth be told, H&M is actually my favorite place to get fall sweaters because they are usually pretty inexpensive and well-made for the price. I was blown away by the quality of this faux leather skirt in picture 2, but can’t seem to find the exact one online 🙁 I also love the sweater skirt set in picture 1 – wouldn’t that be great for winter?
You can see the sweater theme continues in these pictures with a red/orange sweater, brown, and oatmeal variation. Also, if you are in the need for a nice blazer, please get the one in the last picture. I was so impressed with this blazer because it has a perfect fit and seems way more expensive than it is. Also, these plain suede booties are so comfortable if you’re in the market for a basic pair of booties to wear with casual outfits.
Hope you all enjoyed this post and be sure to tune into my IG stories for behind the scenes of leaf peeping!
