I always avoid going into Sephora when I’m in a shopping mood because I know myself too well, and I know that I’ll blow it out. I walked in today because I had a gift card that Rob got me a while ago and I ended up spending double of what amount the gift card was for 😛 I’ve been really into my beauty routine lately and have slowly transformed my skin with my skincare routine (I wrote about it here), but I was really needing some new makeup and random things. I went on a spring cleaning purge a few weeks ago and threw out so much OLD makeup that I was hoarding for no reason at all. I am really bad about keeping old makeup because I think I will use it at some point … and you guessed it- I never do! You guys, I had makeup that had to be over five years old. It felt so good to throw that crusty old stuff in the trash!
St. Tropez Classic Tanning Foam: I used this foam years ago and kind of forgot about it until I started seeing everyone and their Mom talking about how they used this for the best tan. I’m REALLY lazy when it comes to sunless tanners, so I don’t particularly love that this one is foam and you have to use a mitt, but I’m going to give it another try. I am really trying to avoid going to get spray tans since they are costly and inconvenient so I’m all about exploring at-home options right now.
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Primer: I’m trying to shrink my pores in my quest for perfect skin, like who isn’t right? I’m going to try this Dr. Brandt primer until I can get these large orange peel pores under control. I’ve tried A LOT of primers and some of them are such garbage, whether they are too sticky or just don’t work. I have heard nothing but great things about the Pores No More primer, so I’ll definitely report back. I was startled at Sephora when I was trying the sample bottle because it literally comes out orange, but once you blend it into your skin the color disappears.
Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation: I’ve been on the tinted moisturizer and BB cream train for a year or so and I realized the other day that I need a foundation with more coverage. Not necessarily because I have problems I need to cover, but more so because I want a flawless finish and you just aren’t going to get that with a tinted moisturizer. I did A LOT of online stalking one night and got deep on some forums where people swore by this Kat Von D Lock-It foundation. So, despite the hideous bottle, I bought some at Sephora today and I will report back on this.
Dr. Brandt No More Baggage De-Puffing Gel: I’ve also seen 3948034 people post about this on Instagram (probably sponsored), but I am a lemming and wanted to try it. I have some gnarly under-eye bags when my allergies get bad, and until I can get a lower blepharoplasty (lol) I will just pray that Dr. Brandt can erase my under-eye bags. Lawd, Dr. Brandt please help me! I wonder if this works on the upper lids as well because I have some sagging going on there too. Jesus take the wheel.
Murad Pure Skin Clarifying Supplement: On one of my OCD/anxiety fueled internet binges the other night I was deep on some acne.org forums reading about acne scarring and products that help with breakouts and SO many people posted about this random Murad supplement that had great online reviews. I already take my collagen pills, but hell, I had to get this Murad supplement too. I read one review where the person said there skin had never looked more clear or radiant and it was on like Donkey Kong for me after that. I already took 4 pills today and I am hoping I wake up tomorrow looking like Snow White 😛
Anastasia Brow Wiz: I’ve been using the Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade for years and recently I’ve just been kind of over the whole process. Half the time I can’t find my angled brush to apply it and my pomade is like 3 years old and was starting to get crusty and dry. I decided to just go for something simple and easy, so I got the good ole brow pencil with a brush attached. I think this will be easy and fast, and I’m all about fast makeup.
Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder: I go back and forth on whether or not I like setting powders. Like do they really even do anything? Do they make you look like you just poured baking soda all over your face? I have tried this Laura Mercier one in the past and I think I remember liking it, plus it has a million good reviews. I love the fact that it’s translucent and doesn’t add any color. Hopefully it will help control my oily t-zone area that tends to look like a bacon greased iron skillet around 3pm.
Sephora Collection Facial Exfoliating Tool: Doesn’t this thing look weird AF? I was perusing the brush section at Sephora and saw this next to the jade rollers. Naturally, I was curious and saw that it was only 12 dollars, so I just threw it in my basket not even really knowing what it was for. I got home and decided to actually look it up on the Sephora website and it has great reviews! Basically, you use it when you wash your face to exfoliate. Think of it as a cheaper and more simple Clarisonic, Foreo, etc.
Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops: Someone saying something is so popular that it stays sold out on Sephora’s website is basically just a given for me to be like I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE RIGHT NOW! I’ve heard nothing but great things about these Isle of Paradise tanning drops and I was surprised to see that my local Sephora was fully stocked with all of the shades. I went back and forth on these and the Tan Luxe drops, but ultimately the price and color options swayed me to get the Isle of Paradise Medium tan drops. Basically, you just add 1-2 droops to your moisturizer that you’re already going to use on your body and face … it’s that simple!
Alright, so who’s used any of these items? Let me know in the comments! Also, let me know if you have a favorite at-home sunless tanner!
