Y’all know I’m a pretty chill person and there are definitely tips and tricks I’ve learned over the years to chill out. I am actually a pretty chill person and type B. Sometimes I can get worked up (like who can’t in this day and age), but usually I am able to go back to a state of zen pretty easily. I’ve got 5 things that I use to take me back to chill and I am here to share those with you all today!
Music– one of my favorite ways to unwind is to put on chill music or sometimes smooth jazz. I have several playlists I’ve saved on my Spotify account and I even made one myself! Click here to listen to my very own chill mix which combines several of my favorite chill songs. I’ve been listening to the Sirius XM Chill channel for years and years, so I feel like I have a pretty good playlist drilled down from the songs I hear on there every day.
Baths– I used to hate baths because I didn’t really get the point. Now that I have hair extensions and try to go as long as I can without washing my hair, I am such a fan of the bath! I love to use lavender epsom salts and do a face mask while I’m in the bath. I will also do a nice exfoliating treatment and sometimes add a couple drops of essential oils to the bath.
Essential Oils– I promise I don’t sell oils and I don’t think I ever will (nothing wrong with that), but I just get the essential oils from Saje and they are amazing. I got the pocket farmacy pack a while back and I use all of the rollerball oil sets that come with it. I particularly love the Peppermint Halo and the Relax blends. I can always calm down with the Peppermint Halo because it makes your back and neck tingle and it just seems to distract from whatever is going on.
Nightime Routine– I think it’s crucial to have a good nighttime routine. Mine consists of several things that help me unwind including my Sleep Plus pillow spray, jade roller, small diffuser that I will usually put some lavender essential oils in. You all know that I also use two different Marpac noise machines and sometimes I will even take it to another level by also playing my relax melodies (iPhone app) mix for sleep. This is my current mix, but you can choose from all different kinds of sounds:
Calm App- this is totally not an ad, but I just really love this app called Calm. I think there are several apps like this out there including one called HeadSpace (one of my friends uses that one and loves it). The idea is to have an app where there are several guided meditations for different situations. There are also bedtime stories which I love (the one with Matthew McConaughey always puts me to sleep). I also really like the “daily calms” which are short little mantras for your day.
And that’s basically it! Do you all have any chill secrets I am missing? I am much more of a chill person than a hyper person, so I love my chill time. If you do, share them in the comments!
