It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these posts and I know you all recommended more skincare posts, and I am here to please! To be honest skincare and beauty posts are my favorite to write and they just come so easy to me. I will sit in front of the computer screen for hours trying to write a personal or travel post, but the skincare posts just flow out of my brain like water. I guess that means beauty is my true passion – how vain of me? LOL. So you all know I try new stuff all the time and I’m always investigating the new and hip skincare and beauty trends, so here are some things I’ve been loving lately. Just as an FYI, none of this is sponsored and nothing was gifted to me.
Kevin Murphy Fresh Hair– okay, so I feel like I’ve tried ALL of the dry shampoos out there from drugstore to high end and this is my absolute favorite. First of all, there is really no scent with this one which is key for me because overpowering scents with hair products really get to me. Second, it doesn’t really leave that nasty build up that a lot of dry shampoos leave on your scalp.
St. Tropez Self Tan Face Mist– I love the way I look when I get a spray tan, but I really hate the whole process and I’m really lazy, so I definitely hate putting on sunless tanner myself. In the winter months I will usually just use a natural glow face tanner, but sometimes I feel like the lotion ones interrupt my everyday skincare routine. I found this St. Tropez face mist sunless tanner and I absolutely love it. It goes on really easily and has a really natural color that develops.
Jade Roller/Rose Quartz Roller and Gua Sha Face Scrapper– you all probably know all about this little duo if you follow me on Instagram Stories (@pipmegan) because I use it every single night! The jade roller is an ancient Chinese tool used to promote lymphatic drainage of the face and help with fine lines and wrinkles as well as under-eye puffiness. I like to put mine in the fridge or freezer before rolling and that seems to really jump start the under-eye depuffing.
Wet Brush Flex Dry Brush– I’ve been a fan of the Wet Brush since they came out, but I only recently got the new Flex Dry version and I love it so much more than the original Wet Brush. I use this brush for my hair when it’s dry but also fresh out of the shower when it’s really tangled and unmanageable and it always manages to detangle the rat’s nest.
Le Labo Another 13 Perfume– I just love Le Labo scents and how they are so bougie as a brand. I swear you can smell Santal 33 on anyone from a mile away. I was recently at the Le Labo in London and I asked for another good scent besides Santal 33 and Rose 31 and the sales associate recommended Another 13, so I took her word for it and bought it after one sniff. If you tend to like the same perfumes as me you will probably like this one.
Sisley Black Rose Face Oil– I got this face oil in duty free at the airport in London because my face was so dry and I just felt like I needed an oil moisturizer. I love rose scented anything and wasn’t expecting to love the results as much as the smell, but my face has been so soft and glowing ever since I started using it, so I’m going to keep it up! I really like to use this right before I jade roll to give a good slick base for the roller.
Explore Naturals Rose Garden Deodorant– I’ve been using a natural deodorant of some kind for about a year now and I feel like I’ve tried them all. I really like this one that I got on Amazon not only because of the scent, but because I swear it actually works and lasts all day. A lot of the natural deodorants tend to wear off before the day is over and this one by Explore Naturals lasts all day for me.
TruSkin Vitamin C Serum– this is probably the single most effective serum you can buy for a cheap price. I found this by searching the top rated skincare products on Amazon and ordered it to test it out. I think this is just as good as the pricey Vitamin C serum combos out there on the market and it’s only $20. I have seen an overall improvement in the appearance of my freckles (they are definitely lightening).
Sleep Plus Pillow Spray– I was skeptical about this stuff because I typically need prescription medication when I really can’t sleep, but I decided I’d give it a try because anything is better than nothing. I was actually surprised at how well this pillow and linen spray worked. You spray this on your pillows and linens every night before you go to bed and it has some sort of movement technology where it releases the scents as you sleep. It’s also supposed to be good for your skin, so I spray that shiz everywhere on my pillow at night.
Chanel Gabrielle Perfume– if you’re in need of a good classic perfume this is a great one to add to your collection. I love all Chanel perfumes, but sometimes they can be too strong and overpowering. I love how light the Chanel Gabrielle is and it doesn’t give me a headache, so that’s a plus! It’s also very potent, so you only need one little spray for it to last the whole day.
