Hi, my name is Megan and I’m obsessed with Vermont. If someone said, “hey, you wanna go with me to Vermont next weekend?” I’d be like, “HELL YEA”. But in all seriousness, Vermont was like a dream driving through the fall foliage filled back roads and seeing all of the maple farms. I wasn’t expecting to love this state as much as I did, but I am fall-obsessed, so I guess I should have seen it coming.
We decided to stay in Woodstock, Vermont purely because I saw someone post about The Woodstock Inn & Resort about two years ago and I bookmarked their post. I tried to book us a room at Woodstock Inn last year, but they were sold out as the fall season is their busiest time of the year and spaces are limited. This year I came prepared and emailed them in JUNE and was happy to get a reservation during the peak time of the season just when the leaves were turning.
I truly cannot say enough good things about The Woodstock Inn & Resort. From the time we entered the building we were treated so kindly and the Inn itself was like stepping back in time where people sit around fires to talk and play games in an old fashioned game room. They had a tea hour every evening from 4-6pm where they served tea, hot apple cider, coffee, and cookies. Personally this was my favorite activity at the hotel because we all know that I love sweets!
The Woodstock Inn & Resort is located centrally in downtown Woodstock where there are plenty of cute shops, restaurants, and things to do within just a few steps of the hotel. They even provide adorable bicycles with big wooden baskets in case you want to ride a bike anywhere in town. Unfortunately we never got a chance to ride the bikes as it rained the second day we were there, but I can’t wait to go back again next year and I will definitely be trekking all around on those bikes.
We loved our Tavern King room that was located on the third floor with a perfect view of the back yard area. We had the prettiest bright orange tree right outside of our window that reminded me each morning of how much I love the fall season. The room had a huge plush king bed and a little sofa and chair for watching TV. It also had three, yes three closets and plenty of space for luggage and bags. The bathroom was spacious as well and had a double vanity and a nice sized tub and shower.
The hotel also has a killer bar area that looks like something out of the 50’s. The hotel restaurant is aptly named the Red Rooster and they showcase menus that draw from the best purveyors in New England, emphasizing fresh, local ingredients – including specialty cheeses, beef, and heirloom fruits and vegetables.
Woodstock Inn is a reflection of a timeless resort experience. Throughout the building, historic details are blended with modern conveniences for today’s travelers, creating a vibrant ambiance and an unforgettable escape to Woodstock, Vermont’s landmark resort. We will definitely be back next year and we are already counting down the days until we can experience this amazing hotel. Thank you to Woodstock Inn & Resort for allowing us to review your wonderful hotel in exchange for a stay.
