5 Things to Do in Prague, Czech Republic

Prague was definitely one of our favorite cities during our Eurotrip … you can read about where we stayed here and our first day here.  If you are considering Prague or will maybe be in a city near there, you must stop by and at least spend a day or two in this beautiful city!

1. There was so much to do in Prague, but one of my favorite activities was to just walk around and people watch.  My favorite place to go each day was the iconic 14th-century Charles Bridge where local artists would set up their paintings and some would even do live paintings.  There were several street musicians playing instruments and people taking pictures.  At the end of the Charles Bridge there were several trained pigeons that you could take pictures with – I would highly recommend this! The bridge is extremely crowded as you can see by this picture I grabbed on my iPhone below.

2. One of our favorite post-dinner activities was to walk the Vltava River, which is the river that runs through the middle of Prague.  It was so peaceful watching the boats, river cruises, and seeing all of the parks that run along side the river.  The best part about this activity is that it’s absolutely free! haha!

3. Hike up to the Petrin Lookout Tower – we actually stumbled upon this lookout tower by accident.  We were on our nightly walk back to the hotel and Rob decided he wanted to follow a path up a hill to get some good pictures.  We didn’t realize that this steep path would eventually lead to the highest point in the city of Prague, the Petrin Lookout Tower.  There is also a tram that goes up to the tower, so keep that in mind if you aren’t wearing comfortable shoes or if you don’t feel like trekking up the side of a hill.  The views were 100% worth it and I would highly recommend this activity!  There was a small fee to go to the top of the tower, so keep that in mind if you are planning on going.

4.  The Vrtba Garden behind the Aria Hotel Prague- this garden is an 18th century baroque garden that has many levels.  I’ve seriously never seen such a beautiful garden before with the best views.  I would go out to the garden every single morning and just take in the sights.  There was a garden kitty that lived in a nearby apartment who would follow me around.  You can access this garden through the Aria Hotel Prague by going to their garden access door.  

5. Eat dinner at Coda Restaurant Prague- If you are looking for some high-end authentic Czech cuisine, then look no further than the Coda Restaurant atop the Aria Hotel Prague.  Not only was the food amazing, but the views are insane and you can sit on the rooftop terrace listening to the nearby church-bells ring every hour.
