It’s the video you’ve all been waiting for! All about microblading! I’ve gotten so many questions about my microblading experience, so I’m here to tell you and show you all about it!
First of all, I drove to Nashville to get my microblading done by Olivia at Skin MB. She was awesome and is very popular- I did my research! If you are interested in using her I recommend going ahead and booking because she is always full and I think she’s booking into January right now.
You may be wondering what is Microblading? Microblading is the process of putting small hair like strokes tattooed on your eyebrows. You can fill in the natural brows that you have, make your brows bigger, or even create brows if you have nothing there at all.
Olivia started out by measuring my face and forming an outline of what she thought my brows should look like based on my face shape. She then dipped a small blade in ink and makes the small, hair like strokes the first layer, then a topical numbing agent was applied with a layer of the ink to sink into the cuts of the skin. Then then did a second pass of the hair like strokes. I have to say that it did not hurt at all. If anything it just felt like someone was scratching my skin. My brows got darker the couple of days after, but this is just because they are oxidizing. The next week they were my normal brow color.
I had no weird side effects or redness, some people get red after the microblading process but I thought it was really a walk in the park. My eyebrows started to peel about a week after, but as soon as all the dead skin was gone they were like a brand new set of brows!
After your first microblading you go back after 6 weeks and get a touch-up… and from there you should have them maintained about once a year. I’m sure you can go longer but if you want them to look fresh it’s recommended you go at least once a year.
You may also be wondering about cost- Microblading costs anywhere from 400-600 dollars with some places in LA charging upwards of 800 dollars.
Overall, I am very pleased with my brows and I can’t wait to go back for my touch up because I think I want them even bigger than they are now! Be sure to check out more beauty posts before you go.
