Frayed Flare Crop Jeans- love them or hate them, this season’s jean is all about the uneven frayed hem, flared bottoms, and extra plus if they are cropped. And even better? Wear the cropped jeans, yes cropped- with your booties.
Monochromatic Outifts- I can’t tell you how many times I saw someone wearing a pale pink oversized sweater over a pale pink skirt or pale pink pants/dress/etc. If you have a sweater that matches your pants or skirt, throw it on … and bonus points if the sweater is oversized and looks about 10 sizes too big.
Pleated Skirts- I can’t even keep track of how many times I saw someone in a pleated long skirt (myself included). I saw them in all colors and like mentioned above, pair them with an oversized sweater or denim jacket (we’ll get to that one soon).
Leopard Print- I would be so so sad if leopard print ever went out of style, but this year I saw it on everything- bags, shoes, jackets … you name it. I am dying over this J.Crew faux fur leopard print jacket.
Red Shoes- red is the hot season this fall for shoes. Red booties are especially popular and the taller the bootie shaft, the better. I didn’t see many short booties at all, think sock booties.
Oversized Denim Jackets- the denim jacket that I wore basically all weekend was a size Large and I bought it that size for a reason – to look oversized. The denim jackets are no longer the extreme fitted ones from the GAP. You need an oversized denim jacket and if it’s not made oversized just size up about 2 sizes too big.
Mule Shoes- whether it be a flat mule or a heeled mule, they are in this season and are surprisingly really comfortable. Add a fur pom pom to a mule and you are basically runway ready.
Velvet Anything- seriously, wear anything velvet and you will be on trend this season. You could probably wear a velvet onesie or bodysuit and no one would look twice. I got a pair of velvet booties for FW, but you could really get velvet anything- bag, blazer, shoes, dress.
Stark White Accessories- seems a little odd for stark white to be a “fall trend” but it is and I am not really asking any questions. Retro looking bright white booties were everywhere in NYC for fashion week and surprisingly, I kind of like this trend.
